Which AI scan suits you? Four criteria and our figures

The market for AI visibility research is young and hard to survey. In our measurement of 29 August 2026, 82 Dutch providers surfaced. This page gives the four points on which you can compare providers fairly, and fills in our own figures per package in advance. Put them next to any other quote.

Compare on four points: how many AI platforms are actually queried, which measurement levels are recorded, whether the measurement is reproducible, and whether the price is one-time or a subscription. The number of platforms weighs most: six platforms used 319 sources between them to answer eight buying questions, 81% of which appeared on exactly one platform. A scan on one platform shows 3 to 32 percent of that picture, depending on which platform.

Our own figures, so you can put them next to any other provider. Always ask for the same fields in a comparison — if a provider cannot fill one in, you know enough.

The four criteria

1

How many platforms are really queried?

This is the point with the most impact. We measured on 29 August 2026 that six AI platforms used 319 sources between them to answer eight buying questions. 81% of those sources appeared on exactly one platform. Measuring only ChatGPT shows 52 of the 319: 16%. The usual combination of ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude comes to 55%. So do not ask whether 'AI search engines' are looked at, but which ones and how often.

2

Which measurement levels are recorded?

Being retrieved, being cited, being mentioned and being recommended are four different things. A brand can serve as a source without appearing in the answer — we saw that literally happen in our own measurement. A scan that only measures 'are you mentioned' therefore does not show exactly where the difference lies.

3

Is the measurement reproducible?

Ask whether the same questions can be put again later and whether the method is public. Without repetition you do not know whether a change is the result of your work or of a different moment. Also ask how temporarily unavailable measurements are handled: as a zero score or listed separately. That makes a considerable difference to the outcome.

4

One-time or subscription?

In this market the models range from one-time reports to monthly subscriptions and programmes on request. Work out what a first picture costs you, not what a year costs. A one-time report is usually the cheapest starting point; a subscription only makes sense once you want to follow the development over months.

Frequently asked questions

How many providers of AI visibility research are there in the Netherlands?
In our measurement of 29 August 2026, 82 Dutch domains surfaced as a source or named provider on eight buying questions about AI visibility. That is not a complete count of the market, but it indicates how fragmented it is.
Why does the number of AI platforms weigh most?
Because every platform uses different sources. Of the 319 sources six platforms cited between them, 81% appeared on exactly one platform. No source appeared on all six. A scan on one platform therefore shows between 3 and 32 percent of the picture.
What is the difference between retrieval, citation, mention and recommendation?
Retrieval: your page was fetched. Citation: that page was used as a source. Mention: your brand name is in the answer. Recommendation: you are actively recommended. A brand can be cited without being mentioned, and mentioned without being recommended.
What does a one-time AI visibility scan cost?
At AI Visibility Report Group the Scan costs €29 including VAT, one time and without subscription. Pro costs €79 and Complete €149. In the wider market prices vary strongly; so always compare what is actually measured per euro.

Method statement. The figures on source overlap come from one blind measurement on 29 August 2026: eight buying questions without brand name, each put to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok and Meta AI. Of the 48 planned measurements, 38 succeeded; ten were unavailable at the time and were not processed as a zero score. AI answers differ by model, moment and wording, so a repetition produces different sources. This page deliberately contains no prices or scores of other providers: that information changes and we do not measure third-party websites. So compare for yourself, using the four criteria above.
