Can AI read your website at all?
Before an AI system can name you, it has to be able to fetch your pages. A single line in robots.txt can block that without you noticing. This check looks at exactly that.
What this tool checks
Nine checks on the layer that decides whether an AI system reaches your site at all. This is the first of four levels: being fetched. Fail here, and the other three levels do not matter.
- ✓HTTPS active
- ✓Homepage reachable
- ✓robots.txt present and readable
- ✓Robots meta allows indexing
- ✓OpenAI's OAI-SearchBot allowed
- ✓GPTBot policy set explicitly
- ✓XML sitemap present
- ✓Sitemap listed in robots.txt
- ✓llms.txt present
Access in order. What next?
Being reachable does not mean being named. The full scan puts eight buying questions to six AI platforms and measures whether you are actually fetched, cited, mentioned and recommended.

- Which AI crawlers should I allow?
- OAI-SearchBot and GPTBot from OpenAI, PerplexityBot from Perplexity, and the crawlers of Google and Anthropic. Block them, and that system cannot fetch your page and therefore cannot cite it.
- What is llms.txt?
- A file in which you describe in plain language what your organisation does, which products it offers and which pages matter most. It is not an official standard, but it makes your offer machine-readable without a system having to infer it from your layout.
- Is this check the same as the full free check?
- It is the same analysis, but this page only shows the nine checks on crawler access. The full check shows all 32 checks, including structured data and content.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing. No account, no payment details, no limit on how often you use it.
This tool runs the same technical check as the full free check and shows the nine points that concern crawler access.
